General Introduction

Books not only serve as a source and food to the mental growth but also to the intellectual maturity. Therefore reading grows to be a life-long habit tempered in years with the flow of my blood. It cannot be imagined that there is a life without good books, especially the books written by those literary giants like Hamilton, Shakespeare, Mark Twain, Austen, and Dickens. The modern books about world history as well as regional history (USA and Britain) are my good companions day in and day out, while science history and economy history also turn to be my favorite ones, though I always find myself reading them in the tight slot of my busy schedule.  Reading brings me such a pleasure and gratification that I dare not spend time rendering conformist pursuits, though with a great seeming honor, more than reading, lest I miss the call of great books.
